The Origins

At the beginning of the Nekomata race, a Goddess resides, her name being Goddess Senri. In the making of the new race, two parts of it were constructed.
One part is called Mountain Nekomata and the other Domesticated Nekomata.

Mountain Nekomata is those of big cat status. This will include pumas, lynx, serval, snow leopard, caracal, and ocelots.

Domestic Nekomata is that of any kind of domesticated house cat.

Life Span

For the first year of a Nekomata's life: one month is equivalent to a year and a half in human years. So when the Nekomata is 1 year old, it is equivalent to them being 18 in human years.

After that first year of life, it drastically slows. For every human year that passes, the Neko ages 6 months. So if a human is 20 a Neko would be 19. When the human is 22 the Neko would be 20.

Mating

Female Nekomata comes into heat twice a year. This span of time will last up to a week, sometimes on rare occasions, it can be longer. Usual mating times are once in the Spring and once in the Fall. During this time most females will seek their mates or look for a mate. It is ultimately up to the female to take on a mate of her choosing. If a male tries to force mate with a female, she will turn on him.

If a female Nekomata decides to leave society, she is free game. No longer protected by the laws on mating that are established in the society. Should a female come into heat and is caught by a male they can force mating upon the female, the female can still turn on the male.

Forms

Most Nekomata only has two forms. One being their primal cat form and the being their more human form to help them blend in. In the human form, they will keep their tails and ears, and Neko's eyes will also stay the same in each form. The hair in the human form will match that of their fur coats in their primal form. Their canine teeth will become shorter but definitely a little longer than those of a full human.

One in almost every generation has three forms. That being a primal form, a middle form, and their more human form. The middle form is where they tend to look human in the way they stand and body parts, only they are covered in the coat of their primal forms. In this middle form, they can use their hands as in their human forms.
