Ranks can be REQUESTED but this doesn't mean they will be given. A rank is given upon expectation of one's skills.
Alpha - Leader of the pack. Can be male or female. Not required to be mated.
Beta - Second in command and substitute alpha when the real alpha is away. Also, the replacement for the alpha role when the acting alpha passes. Two betas may be active at one time. One male and one female. Not required to be mated.
Elders - Elders in the pack are over eight years old. They are the most respected and if are wise enough the only ones the alpha may submit too. They are filled with wisdom and renowned strength. They are respected by all in the pack.
Sentinels - These wolves are the assassins of the pack. They also double as spies to gather information on other packs. They are well trained in combat and stealth. There can only be three Sentinels in a pack, two males and one female or vice versa. Not required to be mated.
Lead Roles - Leading roles are the wolves who have proven themselves worthy of a spot to take a direct order from the alpha or beta of the pack. They can be the lead warrior, lead hunter, lead scout, lead healer, or lead caretaker. Not required to be mated.
Warriors - Depending on how big the pack is there can be anywhere from 5 to 15 warriors or more in a pack. They are the protectors of the pack. Must be a quick thinker and be able to stay calm in any situation. Not required to be mated. Unlimited number.
Hunters - Although every member of the pack hunts, these are the main food gathers for the pack. Not required to be mated. Unlimited number.
Scouts - Surveyors of the pack lands. They roam the lands and report back with any unusual activity or the spotting of rivals. Not required to be mated. Unlimited number.
Healers - these wolves are the ones with knowledge of herbs and injury healing. Not required to be mated. Unlimited number.
Caretakers - these wolves look after pups when their mothers are able to return to their usual duties. They are like pup sitters. Unlimited number.
Novice - this is the rank given to pups that have surpassed six moons of age and are ready to begin their training in their pick of duty. Unlimited number.
Omega - given to a wolf that had disrespected the alpha(s). This is the lowest rank a wolf can be given. Unlimited number.
